ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Board Actions Include In-state Tuition for Military Dependents, New Degree Program Options, Building Renovations

In its plenary session Oct. 27, the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Board of Governors approved two new options to the Bachelor of Science in Design and Drafting Technology program, the demolition and cleanup of select vacant structures on university property, a contract for timber harvesting at the Prussing Farm, a proposal that positively impacts the cost of education for military dependents, and policy changes that apply to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ emeriti faculty and staff.

Carson First at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ to Receive NIJ Grant: Will Pursue Study Contributing to Better Understanding of Left-Wing and Environmental Terrorism in U.S.

The principal investigator of a research project designed to develop data sources that could potentially inform law enforcement policy and counterterrorism efforts, Jennifer Carson, Ph.D., professor of criminology and criminal justice at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, has been awarded a $506,497 grant from the National Institute of Justice (NIJ). This three-year financial award includes collaboration with faculty members at three other institutions in the United States and abroad.

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½'s TRIO-eligible Students Encouraged to Attend Student Support Services Open House on Nov. 8

It is estimated that nearly 3,000 ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ students meet federal TRIO program eligibility guidelines. For those who do, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is extending an invitation to attend the Student Support Services (SSS) Center Open House, 1-4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, in Elliott Student Union 128.
