A major component of the program’s unique success story is its three-year paid internships where students apply what they are learning in the classroom while working at industry-leading employers.

More than 20 years ago, Rick Smetana made the decision to check out the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ after a teacher in his Chicago suburb high school spoke highly of the school. Since then, Smetana has received four degrees from ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, including several earned during his 24 years as a full-time university employee.

Thanks to a groundbreaking program from the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, Madison Canton is poised to earn her bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity in May 2022, just two years after her graduation from Blue Springs High School, while also working toward a spring 2023 master’s degree graduation.
