Important Information for 2026 Campers
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is thrilled to welcome music, theater, and art
students to Warrensburg for an intensive week of artistic exploration, friend-making,
and all-around fun!
Students will select a primary camp from the registration links below. While the majority of their daily activities will be with campers in their selected camp, students can select a class from a camp outside their primary interest. (They can make those choices once we start working on schedules in late spring 2026.)
Campers will reside in one of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s air-conditioned dormitories, share meals, and take classes taught by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ faculty and guest artists on the Warrensburg campus. University students will serve as camp counselors
Concerts and exhibitions will be open to all campers, parents and friends.
Camp Descriptions
Campers interested in the Theatre & Dance arts are invited to experience a week packed with theatre and dance activities including production rehearsals, daily workshops in acting, dance, and design, theatre games and improvisation. Classes are taught by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ faculty, alumni, and select students. Every camper will receive specialized coaching to help them reach their theatrical goals and to exercise the aspect of theatre that most interests them.
Campers interested in exploring Studio Art, Design, and Illustration are invited to experience the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Art & Design Camp! Campers will have options to work on painting technique, draw from the live model, sample a variety of printmaking processes, and gain an introduction in illustration concepts. Classes are taught by faculty and alumni in the Division of Art & Design at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½. is
Every camper receives individualized instruction to develop their artistic skills, and will produce work to begin building a portfolio. The evenings are reserved for a variety of recreational and art-related activities. The week of art making culminates in an exhibition in the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Gallery of Art & Design.
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Summer Music Camp offers young musicians an opportunity to immerse themselves in music study while forging new friendships with students from all over the region.
Camp activities are anchored by four private lessons on their instrument, a dynamic mixed ensemble experience (instrumental or choral), plenty of time for individual practice, and a daily performance workshop tailored to their instrument area or voice. Students will select an additional class from offerings in the areas of music theory, music technology, songwriting, or conducting.
Students whose primary interest is electronic music composition will be able to take advantage of our world-class Music Technology faculty and facilities.
Recitals on Wednesday and Friday of the camp week will give students the opportunity to perform for friends and family.
The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Summer Piano & Organ Institute is an intensive week of study during which students will deepen their musicianship skills while forging friendships with students from all over the region. This summer we are thrilled to welcome our newest faculty member to the camp, organist Dr. Jacob Hofeling. .
Camp activities are anchored by four private lessons, a dynamic mixed ensemble experience (instrumental or choral), plenty of time for individual practice, and a daily performance workshop. Students will select an additional class from offerings in the areas of music theory, collaborative piano, improvisation, music technology, songwriting, or conducting. A highlight of every camp session is our annual Monster Sight Reading Party where we read duet pieces of all levels. No pressure, all fun!
As an All-Steinway school, ample practice time is scheduled every day in practice rooms that house our beautiful Steinway and Boston grand pianos. Organists will have dedicated time on our recital hall organ, with field trips slated to local churches in order to try out different instruments.
Camp Life
Our camps are open to students who have completed grades 7-12 during the 2025-2026 academic year.
- Piano Institute students should have had at least three years of private piano instruction.
- Instrumentalists should have completed at least one year of a school band program or private instruction on their instrument.
Previous formal singing or choir instruction is not required for vocal students.
Dormitory residence campers will stay and eat in one of ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½â€™s air conditioned dormitories. Room and board costs are included with dorm residents’ tuition.
All students will be housed in the same dormitory, on co-ed floors, along with camp counselors.
We recognize this may be many students' first residential summer camp. A high ratio of specially selected ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ music, art, and theater majors will serve as camp counselors. Their close supervision is designed to provide a safe and engaging experience for every camper. To that end, students are expected to remain on campus and be responsive to staff supervision at all times.
Commuter students will be expected to attend the Sunday afternoon all-camp meeting at 4:00pm and should expect to stay through the evening activities (which will conclude at 8:30). Starting Monday of camp week, commuter students will be on campus from 8:30am to 8:30pm each day. Counselors will supervise the dismissal/pickup of commuter students.
ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is proud to be an All-Steinway School - a distinction only held by select universities worldwide! You’ll have ample practice time throughout the camp week to experience our newly updated practice rooms outfitted with Steinway and Boston pianos and receive coaching from dedicated counselors.

Registration, Tuition, and Other Fees
Class selections: will be made in April-May.
Note that Students will be able to select classes from all camp areas.
For example: if a clarinet player would like to try a painting class,
or a theater student would like to sing in choir, these things are
possible!.
A non-refundable registration deposit of $75 for each camper is due by May 16, 2026.
Tuition is due by June 1, 2026. Camp tuition covers instruction, room & board in the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ residence hall, planned recreation activities, and camp t-shirt.
Tuition for Dormitory Residents of the Music Camp, Piano & Organ Institute, and Theater Camp is $600.
- Tuition for Dormitory residents of the Art & Design Camp: $675
- Tuition for commuter students of the Music Camp, Piano Institute, and Theater & Dance Camps: $345
- Tuition for commuter students of the Art & Design Camp: $420
Optional Meal Plan for Commuter Students who would like to eat lunch & dinner with the dorm students: $160. Payment is due by June 1.
Scholarships: while we don’t currently offer scholarships, Music Camp
students are highly encouraged to make contact with the amazing Band of
Angels organization, as they do offer scholarship support for students attending
